Hello, I am Samantha. I am a person-centred counsellor in Devon. You will see my rescue dog, Ruby, appear on my social media and website. She is a lively bundle of joy, but loves to nap during my sessions. I love to head out for a morning walk with her and a nice brew to get the day started.
I was never sure which path I wanted to take with my career, but I knew I wanted to work within a sector that supported others. I have a background working within the Health and Social Care sector, supporting individuals with brain injuries and learning disabilities. I went on to work in a Care Home as Assistant Manager. Whilst working within these sectors I started to have my own personal counselling, and this ignited my passion.
I studied for 4 years to become a qualified person-centred counsellor, as well as attending further training courses to expand my knowledge. I continue to attend training and development days throughout the year. I have previously volunteered as a counsellor for SAFE in Exeter and The Quiet Mind Centre in Exmouth, both offering counselling to those who may experience barriers to help. These follows my core beliefs.
I am a member and work within the ethical framework set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am committed to providing a confidential non-judgemental environment and have regular supervision which all professional counsellors are required to have.
Please contact me if you would like to book an initial consultation or if you would like any further information. All of my contact details are confidential so please feel able to leave a message if I am not available to take your call in person.
